Choosing the Right Breeder

When searching for a puppy, there are many different options and breeders out there. It can be hard to know who to trust and what to look for. During the pandemic, scammers became the worst they've ever been and too many people lost money and a puppy they had their hopes set on. It is because of this, that we offer to Facetime anyone interested in putting down a deposit on one of our babies. During the Facetime, you can meet the puppies, mom, and dad (if someone is available at the time to stay with mom and the pups).

When trying to choose the breeder that is right for you, make a checklist and find a breeder that marks all the boxes. At The Golden Rule, we strive to be different. We are confident that the care we give our dogs and puppies is top notch. For the first three weeks, there is someone with our puppies at ALL times. They need constant care and supervision while they are developing and growing in those fragile first weeks. Once they are old enough we start in-depth socialization and even puppy training at the appropriate ages and stages. Puppy Care

Puppies are raised using Puppy Culture. If you are unfamiliar with Puppy Culture, you can learn more by clicking here. Breeders use puppy culture as a way of training and enriching their puppies before sending them to their forever homes. At The Golden Rule Doodles and Retrievers we use Puppy Culture to help our puppies get a head start on their training and development.

The puppies are on a routine deworming schedule. They are dewormed at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks.

They will have their first set of immunizations and must receive a clean bill of health prior to going home.

We will post weekly pictures of the puppies to our Facebook page. While it is not guaranteed, we sometimes post videos or other random pictures of the puppies as they grow. We will also send text messages with updates for each individual puppy(once puppy selections have been made).

​**Your puppy must be taken to a licensed vet of your choice within 72 hours of going home with you for the One Year Health Guarantee to be valid.**

The non-refundable deposit on any puppy is $200.

Puppy picks are done in the order the deposit is received. At 6-7 weeks, appointments will be made and families will have the opportunity to visit the puppies. If you are unavailable on puppy pick day, we will send you pictures and videos to help assist in choosing your puppy. We post weekly photo updates to our Facebook page, so you may even have a good idea already of the puppy you like!
